Vette’s Aluma-Cop Flat Tube designs offer a space saving
solution for liquid cooled devices. With multitube assemblies
(tube width ea. @ 1.3”), a thermal resistance of .004
ºc /w was achieved for a 4000w double sided load, 9”
long tubes, water cooled, with a pressure drop of .24 psi.
Multiple tubes manifolded increase the potential applications
for all sizes of IGBTs. Turbulent flow regimes will provide
lower thermal resistance values. Advantages: minimum weight
and minimum cabinet volume required.
Lab test results for a single 9” long tube, 50/50
WEG coolant, with a double sided 828 w load, achieved a
DP of .5 psi @ 2gpm with a .16 ºc/w thermal resistance.
The weight for the prior used cold plate decreased >
3X.
